China is the cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign strategy, according to President Zardari.

Asif Zardari commended the Chinese people’s unity and said that road networks will soon allow citizens of both countries to travel between them.
In addition to expressing the commitment to a zero-tolerance stance against terrorism and autonomy, Secretary Chen Xiaojiang acknowledged President Asif Zardari. He cited the sister-city agreements between eight cities in both nations—including Peshawar and Urumqi—as evidence of strengthening ties between China and Pakistan and expanding regional relationships.
Chen Xiaojiang also brought up the signing of significant agreements during the February 2025 meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and President Zardari. He added that the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was intensified by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent visit.
Extremism was once an issue in Xinjiang, but it has now transformed into a region of development and enduring tranquility. According to Chinese officials, the region’s GDP has surpassed ¥5.6 trillion, demonstrating its rapid development and stabilization.
Asif Ali Zardari, the president of Pakistan, visited the Xinjiang Islamic Institute in Ürümqi earlier and praised the institution’s reforms and contributions to religious study in fostering academic and cultural interchange between China and Pakistan.
