The Torkham border has reopened for the deportation of illegal Afghan refugees following a 20-day closure.

Deputy Commissioner of District Khyber, Bilal Shahid, stated that the Torkham border has been opened only for the deportation of unauthorized Afghan nationals living in Pakistan.
He indicated that numerous Afghan refugees had reached the Torkham Immigration Center, where immigration officials are finalizing requisite paperwork before to permitting their entry into Afghanistan.
DC Shahid said that the border will remain closed to trade and pedestrian traffic till further notice.
The Torkham crossing was closed on October 11 due to increased tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
