Punjab Bar Council elections: Ahsan Bhoon Group secures a majority of seats in Lahore.

The Ahsan Bhoon Independent Group has attained a definitive majority by securing 45 seats in Lahore, based on unofficial results of the Punjab Bar Council elections.
As per the unofficial results of the Punjab Bar Council elections on Saturday, candidates from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) secured merely 15 seats, while the vote counting for an additional 15 seats was still in progress.
The conclusive outcomes of the Punjab Bar Council elections will be revealed on November 17. Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar sent his congratulations to the Independent Group.
The campaign for 75 seats in Lahore was closely contested between the Ahsan Bhoon Group, affiliated with the Independent Group, sometimes referred to as the Asma Jahangir Independent Group, and the Hamid Khan Professional Group.
Over 132,000 attorneys participated in the electoral process throughout Punjab. A competition involving 77 applicants for 16 seats in Lahore attracted almost 31,000 lawyers who participated in the voting process.
A significant contingent of attorneys, including Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan, Ahsan Bhoon, Hamid Khan, Ashfaq Bhullar, and Sardar Latif Khosa, availed themselves of their voting rights.
During the Punjab Bar Council elections, 52 polling stations were established within the High Court grounds, where judicial judges served as presiding officers.
The polling commenced at 8:30 AM and concluded at 5:30 PM. A one-hour interval was also observed during the polling.
