The Sindh government has extended the deadline for Ajrak-design number plates to December 31.

The Sindh Excise and Taxation Department has prolonged the deadline for Karachi motorists to get the new Ajrak-design car number plates until December 31, 2025.

The department’s statement states that vehicle owners now have an additional two months to obtain the new, security-enhanced plates. The prior deadline lapsed on October 31.

Officials stated that the revamped plates incorporate sophisticated security measures intended to enhance vehicle identification, verification, and tracking within the province.

The department asked residents to finalise the installation process within the extra timeframe to evade penalties following the new deadline.
