President Erdogan and PM Shehbaz will attend Baku’s Victory Day festivities.

– According to diplomatic sources on Monday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will travel to Azerbaijan for a day on Saturday.

The prime of Pakistan will take part in Azerbaijan’s Victory Day celebrations, which honor the nation’s military victory in retaking territory from Armenia in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, officials said. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the president of Turkey, is also anticipated to attend the event, which will take place in Baku.

According to sources, Prime Minister Sharif is expected to meet with Turkish President Erdoğan, senior Azerbaijani leadership, and President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan while he is in the country. Bilateral relations, regional collaboration, and possible cooperative projects are anticipated topics of discussion.

As part of continuous efforts to improve political and economic ties between the two nations, diplomatic sources also disclosed that President Ilham Aliyev is anticipated to travel to Pakistan in the next months. In September, Shehbaz Sharif and Aliyev met for the last time in Tianjin, China, for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit.

In Azerbaijan, the liberation of Nagorno-Karabakh and the nation’s triumph over Armenia in the 2020 war are celebrated on Victory Day. During the conflict, Azerbaijan received substantial diplomatic and political support from both Pakistan and Turkey, strengthening their trilateral relationship.
