Khawaja Asif implores the Taliban to exercise prudence to guarantee regional tranquility.

Speaking to the media at Parliament House in the federal capital, Khawaja Asif stated that the Pakistani delegation has already departed for Istanbul, Turkey, for discussions, with negotiations with the Afghan Taliban scheduled for today (Thursday). He stated, “Our demand is that Afghan territory must not be utilized for terrorism.”
Khawaja Asif stated that he cannot comment on the ongoing debates over the 27th Constitutional Amendment at this time. Concerns have been expressed, and it is inappropriate for me to provide commentary.
He stated that a more definitive understanding of the 27th Constitutional Amendment will materialize next week. In response to Bilawal Bhutto’s statement concerning the proposed modification, he asserted that the PPP chairman is entitled to articulate his viewpoint.
He stated that following discussions with all political parties, the definitive draft of the amendment will be submitted.
He stated that negotiations with Afghanistan are only undertaken when there is potential for advancement; otherwise, it would merely constitute a futile endeavor. The Defence Minister reiterated that Afghanistan must exercise prudence to ensure peace and security in the region.
