PPP will not permit the 18th Amendment to be rolled back: Mari Shazia

Information Secretary Shazia Mari of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has stated that her party will not allow the 18th Amendment to be repealed.
The PPP leader said in a statement released here on Thursday that her party wants to see the provinces given more authority and that any suggestion that would deprive them of that authority would not be accepted.
The PPP could never regain the authority granted to the provinces, she claimed. The PPP leader declared, “We will support any constitutional amendment that can improve the system.”
“We cannot support any proposal that would take away the powers of the provinces,” stated the PPP Information Secretary.
“We have a clear stance on the 18th Amendment and the NFC part, and we won’t change it. The 18th Amendment cannot be rolled back.
The PPP leader went on to say, “The PPP cannot get involved in such a matter if they want the PPP’s support.”
