A parliamentary committee convenes to deliberate on the 27th constitutional amendment bill.

On Sunday, the 27th constitutional amendment bill will be discussed by the Joint Parliamentary Committee for Law and Justice at Parliament House.

The proposed legislation will be examined clause by clause by the parliamentary committee, which is co-chaired by Farooq H. Naik and Mehmood Bashir Virk.

According to sources, the parliamentary body will approve the constitutional amendment bill during its session today.

The legislation will be presented to the Senate for discussion following the committee’s approval during the session.

The 27th Constitutional Amendment, according to Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, Federal Minister for Law, includes a proposal to make the title of Field Marshal a lifetime honor.

The law minister gave an overview of the proposed amendment, which calls for the creation of a Federal Constitutional Court to handle constitutional issues, to the media following yesterday’s cabinet meeting.

The amendment suggests giving the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) the authority to transfer judges. The process will also involve the pertinent high court chief justices.

In addition, the amendment suggests that Senate elections be held nationwide at the same time rather than every three years as they are now.
