Oman is investigating novel investment prospects in Sindh.

On Tuesday, the Sindh government announced that Oman is exploring new investment opportunities in Sindh and is organizing a forthcoming visit by the Sultan of Oman.
Oman has longstanding historical and cultural ties with the Sindh and Balochistan regions, formed via centuries of maritime commerce in the Indian Ocean. Until 1958, Oman administered Gwadar, a coastal city now located in Pakistan’s Balochistan province, and a significant Pakistani diaspora from Sindh and Balochistan continues to live and work in Oman today.
Oman is one of Pakistan’s principal investors in the Gulf, particularly in the domains of ports, logistics, fisheries, and real estate, while Pakistan provides skilled labor and defense cooperation, including military training exchanges.
In recent years, both parties have been exploring improved economic cooperation and new business opportunities linked to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the developing port facilities of Karachi.
On Tuesday, a meeting took place in Karachi between Provincial Interior Minister Zia-ul-Hasan Lanjar and Oman’s Consul General Sami Abdullah Salim Al-Khanjari.
The Sindh Home Department stated that the conference focused on “strengthening and consolidating bilateral relations” and developing a cohesive plan for security cooperation, consular coordination, and investment facilitation.
“Sindh welcomes your investment initiatives,” Lanjar remarked, emphasizing the provincial government’s commitment to promoting peace, stability, and business growth.
The Omani consul general declared that Muscat seeks to strengthen cooperation with Sindh alongside the provincial government.
“I assure the Sindh authorities that the Omani government, in collaboration with the provincial administration, will explore new opportunities,” he stated. He asserted that Oman sought to augment cultural and business contacts between the two entities.
The statement said that both parties discussed security measures for foreign investors and opportunities for collaboration in the investment, trade, and tourism sectors.
“Our aim is to create a safe and transparent environment for the Omani business community in Sindh,” asserted Lanjar.
The consul general conveyed “a message of lasting partnership with Sindh from the Sultan of Oman,” indicating that Muscat was exploring “new opportunities for mutual cooperation.”
Officials deliberated on proposals about the preparations for the Sultan of Oman’s visit to Pakistan, as stated in the release.
