Indian soldiers arrested a minimum of 1,500 Kashmiris, including women and medical professionals, amid extensive crackdown and house raid operations, based on bogus charges in the Indian unlawfully occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Kashmir Media Service reports that in a significant cordon-and-search operation, the Indian Army, paramilitary troops, police, and other agencies had apprehended over 1,500 individuals throughout the Kashmir Valley for interrogation in the last three days.
The objective of the Indian BJP administration is to maintain relentless pressure on the marginalized populace of Kashmir, undermine their determination for self-determination, and stifle dissent through oppressive legislation and violent measures.
The primary targets of the violent operation are predominantly young men and family members of the Hurriyat faction located in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan, and internationally, who persist in advocating for the right to self-determination.
A senior police officer confirmed, “Currently, more than 1,500 individuals have been apprehended for interrogation.” “We have initiated concurrent operations throughout the Valley, primarily targeting individuals with pro-freedom and anti-India affiliations, their supporters, over-ground operatives, and those charged under the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act who are presently on bail.”
The officer stated that the objective is to maintain vigilance on militants and their supporters by subjecting them to continuous pressure. This has been effective previously.
Authorities reported that during the residential search operations, they confiscated residential and financial papers, electronic gadgets, literature, and several other items.
Authorities reported that 16 residences belonging to Hurriyat activists were inspected in Baramulla, resulting in 10 individuals being subjected to stringent legal measures. Furthermore, 32 cordon-and-search operations were conducted in various areas of the district.
In South Kashmir, encompassing the districts of Islamabad, Pulwama, Shopian, and Kulgam, police executed comprehensive cordon and search operations at several sites, including the homes of recently martyred individuals and their affiliates who support the liberation movement.
In Budgam district, authorities reported executing a crackdown on the liberation network.
In Ganderbal, Indian soldiers seized 39 individuals during cordon-and-search operations and house searches, subsequently incarcerating them in Dignibal Jail, Ganderbal.
In Kulgam area, Indian forces arrested eight individuals from Hurriyat families during house raids and later transferred them to Central Jail in Islamabad.
Indian forces apprehended eight individuals during search and raid operations across several locations in the districts of Srinagar, Shopian, Pulwama, and Kulgam. Indian soldiers similarly executed cordon-and-search operations and residential raids in the districts of Ramban, Kishtwar, Rajouri, Poonch, Doda, and Kathua, apprehending and interrogating several youths.
