PTI declares that the 27th Constitutional Amendment procedure in NA will be boycotted.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has said that it will not participate in the National Assembly’s process for the 27th Constitutional Amendment.

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar told reporters outside Parliament House, “We have already stated that we will not participate in the 27th Amendment process. Following our speech to the assembly, we will conduct a walkout.

“Whether Nawaz Sharif comes or not, he is now irrelevant to Pakistani politics,” Gohar said in response to a question on how the PTI would react to his attendance in Parliament. In Parliament, he expected to be greeted with a red carpet, but nobody gave him one.

“Did you not take a petition against Raja Pervez Ashraf to Iftikhar Chaudhry?” Gohar asked in response to another query directed at Khawaja Muhammad Asif, the minister of defense. Didn’t Mian Nawaz Sharif himself serve as the Memogate Commission’s lawyer?

PTI leader Asad Qaiser, meanwhile, declared that the Constitution and the law had been “buried” by the 27th Constitutional Amendment and that the party would keep fighting it.
He added that Pakistan cannot afford additional explosions or violence and that the PTI has called a Peace Jirga to develop a national agenda. “Patience and diplomatic methods should be used to resolve issues between Afghanistan and Pakistan,” he continued.
