Constitutional amendment not enacted for the advantage of any individual. Sanaullah

Rana Sanaullah, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs, stated on Wednesday that the recent constitutional amendment was not enacted for the advantage of any individual or political objective.

In a media address, Rana Sanaullah stated that constitutional positions are esteemed globally. He stated that it is not inappropriate to demonstrate respect for Presidents and Prime Ministers.

He even stated that if a President leads a retired life, there is no objection to awarding him immunity. Nevertheless, should a retired President assume any official office, they will forfeit their entitlement to such protection.

Rana Sanaullah stated that the Judicial Commission will interview candidates for judges of the Constitutional Court. The initial appointment will be determined based on the Prime Minister’s recommendation. He stated that the authority to appoint the Army Chief lies with the Prime Minister.
