In Lahore, 2,000 challans have been issued for vehicles lacking green stickers, which are being closely examined.

In Lahore, the Punjab Environment Protection Agency and the Punjab Safe City Authority have begun a massive crackdown on cars that aren’t wearing the required green stickers.

A zero-tolerance policy has been implemented, and in just four days, more than 2,000 e-challans have been issued, according to department spokeswoman Sajid Bashir. He also stated that operations will get much stricter in the days ahead.

The new enforcement system will result in twofold fines for repeat offenders and immediate vehicle impoundment for third-time violators. According to the official, driving a car without a green sticker is now strictly prohibited on the highway and inside the city limits of Lahore.

The spokesperson also issued a warning that any car found to have a phoney or homemade sticker would be subject to prompt legal action, which may include steep fines and the vehicle being seized. Continuous checkpoints and spot inspections are being conducted around the provincial capital, and Anti-Enforcement squads, Traffic Police units, and checkpoints have been put on high alert.

The spokesperson issued a strong public warning, stressing that challans and car seizures are now “certain and unavoidable” for anyone who drive without a valid Green Sticker.
