PMD forecasts dry, cold weather for the majority of the nation.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts that most of the country will experience a new wave of cold and dry weather on Friday, with extremely chilly temperatures predicted to worsen in hilly areas during the morning and night.

According to the Met Office, the northern and central areas are still dominated by a cold, stable air mass that keeps the skies mostly clear and permits temperatures to drop dramatically at night.

Gilgit-Baltistan may have partly overcast conditions with light rain or snowfall in isolated regions, especially in higher mountain passes, although the most of the region will stay dry.

The weather in Islamabad, the nation’s capital, will be dry and freezing throughout day, with chilly breezes making it feel even colder at night and in the evening.

The chilly and dry weather will continue over Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with hilly areas predicted to stay extremely cold, particularly in the early morning. In some areas of Peshawar, Swabi, Mardan, and Dera Ismail Khan, light patches of shallow fog may form, momentarily impairing visibility.

From north to south, Punjab will see mostly dry and cold weather. It is predicted that the upper areas, such as Murree and Galliyat, will stay chilly all day.

Major cities including Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Sialkot, and Multan are likely to continue to be affected by pollution and thin fog.

Balochistan will see cool days and nights under clear sky, while Sindh will continue to be affected by dry continental winds, maintaining dry weather throughout the state.

The weather in Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir will remain chilly to extremely cold, with temperatures falling precipitously after dusk. Some areas of Gilgit-Baltistan may have light snowfall, which could temporarily impede movement in mountainous areas.
