Lower Dir and the neighboring areas are shaken by an earthquake of magnitude 4.7.

In the early hours of Friday, Lower Dir and its surrounding districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province were rocked by an earthquake with a Richter rating of 4.7, according to Dunya News.

In a panic, people emerged from their houses and began chanting passages from the Quran. There were no reports of earthquake-related fatalities or property damage from any area in Lower Dir.

The National Seismic Monitoring Center in Islamabad reports that the epicenter of the earthquake was 93 kilometers deep in Afghanistan’s Hindukush mountain range.
