According to CM Maryam, accountability is essential to achieving good governance.

On Saturday, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the chief minister of Punjab, emphasized the significance of transparency and accountability for effective governance.

In a meeting with attendees of the 27th National Security Workshop, she said that good governance cannot be attained and public sector performance stays stagnant in the absence of accountability.

CM Maryam answered questions and gave the attendees an update on Punjab’s public welfare initiatives. She discussed the difficulties caused by the uneven allocation of resources and the continuous attempts to lessen the effects of the recent floods, which have impacted cattle and millions of people.

She emphasized the successful programs like the smog gun spray and the installation of zigzag technology in brick kilns, as well as the environmental efforts of her government, especially in the area of pollution control. She also talked about how improved monitoring systems are improving the quality of the air.

The chief minister also emphasized the significance of transparent government and merit-based nominations, pointing out that women are now employed in important positions as secretaries, ministers, commissioners, and deputy commissioners. She emphasized her dedication to merit and equitable procedures by claiming that no political appointments are made in Punjab.

Regarding economic management, she pointed out that Punjab was the only province where wheat, roti, and flour prices had not gone up despite criticism.
