The LG Commission is established by the KP government, and Meena Khan serves as its head.

An official announcement from the Local Government Department states that the Local Government (LG) Commission in the province has been formally established by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.

According to the department, the commission was created in accordance with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Local Government Act of 2013 and would take on its duties and responsibilities right away.

The notification states that the Director General of Local Government and RDD would act as the commission’s secretary, while Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Meena Khan Afridi will serve as its chairman.

In addition to technocrats Hafiz-ur-Rehman and Ayesha Bano, MPA Muhammad Idrees and MPA Ahmad Kundi have been appointed as members of the commission.

Members of the commission include representatives from the departments of law, parliamentary affairs and human rights, local government, RDD, and finance.
