PM Shehbaz urges Pakistan and Turkey to deepen their relationship in a number of areas.

Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister, has highlighted the significance of increasing cooperation between Pakistan and Turkey in the mining, petroleum, and energy sectors.
On Tuesday, he was in Islamabad speaking with Turkiye’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar.
A significant turning point in the two countries’ energy relations has been reached with Turkish Petroleum’s participation in onshore and offshore exploration efforts in Pakistan, the prime minister said with satisfaction.
Additionally, he extended an invitation to Turkish businesses to expand their financial presence in Pakistan’s energy sector.
While highlighting the historic and familial links between Pakistan and Turkiye, Shehbaz Sharif expressed delight at the improving trajectory of bilateral relations and underlined Pakistan’s strong commitment to continue expanding cooperation with Turkiye, particularly in the energy sector.

As he recalled his many meetings with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan this year, the prime minister emphasised the importance of maintaining tight cooperation between the two parties given the rapidly changing regional and international landscape.
The two parties decided that a ministerial delegation from Pakistan would travel to Turkiye shortly to discuss potential future collaboration, particularly in the energy and power sector.
The two leaders also observed the signing of mining-related agreements and memorandums of understanding between Pakistan and Turkey.
