The Punjab government has launched the Green Credit Program, an effort aimed at promoting the adoption of solar energy.

The Environment Protection and Climate Change Department (EPCCD) has initiated a program, encouraging the public to conserve energy and enhance environmental conditions.

The government has implemented the Green Credit to encourage the utilization of solar appliances.

The cost of one Green Credit Card is Rs 10,000.

This card enables individuals to acquire solar appliances, including solar stoves, solar geysers, solar energy savers, and solar fans.

In early November, Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, initiated a significant program for waste disposal by instructing relevant authorities to install colored dustbins in all markets, shopping malls, commercial centers, government offices, and educational institutions.

In Phase I, authority was granted in September of the previous year to execute the ‘Smart Waste Management Process’ in governmental and private educational institutions throughout Punjab.

Laboratory bottles, glass fragments, and waste materials will be disposed of in green bins;
