Under a new policy, Punjab sets the legal driving age at sixteen.

LAHORE (Web Desk): Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb of Punjab declared that the province’s legal driving age has been decreased to 16 years old, largely to make things easier for students.

Aurangzeb issued a warning in a statement, saying that children operating motor vehicles will be viewed as just as harmful as self-harm. Parents who permit their children to drive will be subject to severe legal repercussions. She emphasised that no one will be permitted to endanger himself or others since every life is precious.

She underlined that Punjab is implementing new road safety measures to enhance traffic discipline. She also underlined that traffic infractions are not tolerated by the government. She said that only when people accept accountability for their acts will accidents be decreased.

The senior minister added that the government is conducting the most aggressive anti-drug campaign in history, characterising it as a social goal as well as a governmental activity. The battle against drug cartels will go on until the end, and special spot checks at schools, colleges, and institutions have been expanded.

Drones are being utilised to locate covert supply locations around the province, she added, and a thorough mapping of drug networks has been finished.

The government’s great devotion to this goal is demonstrated by the 111 long-range drug networks that have been arrested and the several operational drug rings that have already been uncovered.
