Significant rainfall and snowfall anticipated over Pakistan; NDMA has issued a warning.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted rain and snowfall in multiple regions of the nation until December 18.
The PMD forecasts that Islamabad and its vicinity will see cloudiness starting today, with sporadic rainfall anticipated over the coming days. Comparable meteorological conditions are anticipated for Murree, Galiyat, and other areas, where precipitation and snowfall may impact daily activities and transportation.
A system of westerly winds is expected to affect the northern and northwestern regions of the country from December 13 to 15. Consequently, precipitation in the form of rain and snow is anticipated in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Kohistan, and in certain regions of Gilgit-Baltistan. Significant snowfall is anticipated in the hilly regions of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kohistan, heightening the likelihood of road obstructions and traffic interruptions.
In Azad Jammu and Kashmir, precipitation is anticipated in low-lying areas, whilst moderate to substantial snowfall is expected in hilly and mountainous parts. The higher regions of Gilgit-Baltistan and the mountainous sections of AJK may encounter significant snowfall, potentially disrupting road connectivity and daily activities.
Balochistan, encompassing Quetta, Ziarat, and other northwestern regions, is anticipated to have mild rain, with snowfall predicted at higher altitudes. In the lowlands, mild to moderate precipitation is expected, while snowfall will persist intermittently in higher and northern areas.
In light of PMD’s weather predictions, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has released a weather advisory to safeguard public welfare.
