Pakistan is set to initiate a statewide anti-polio campaign tomorrow.

The week-long anti-polio campaign will persist until December 21, targeting the administration of polio drops to almost 45 million youngsters nationwide.
In Punjab, more than 23 million youngsters will receive vaccinations, whilst Sindh will administer anti-polio drops to over 10.6 million children.
The campaign in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa aims to reach over 7.2 million children, while more than 2.6 million youngsters will be vaccinated in Balochistan.
In Islamabad, polio vaccinations would be provided to more than 460,000 youngsters. Gilgit-Baltistan will administer vaccinations to around 228,000 children, whereas more than 760,000 youngsters will be vaccinated in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The National EOC announced that over 400,000 male and female polio workers will undertake responsibilities during the campaign. The EOC emphasized the significance of collective responsibility, stating that safeguarding children against polio is a national duty and urged parents to fully collaborate with polio teams to ensure the nation’s future against the illness.
Previously, it was stated, referencing sources, that the nationwide anti-polio campaign conducted in October ‘failed’ to meet established objectives.
The program occurred nationally from October 13 to 19, with the objective of vaccinating over 45 million youngsters, according to sources. Nevertheless, 1,096,525 children were not vaccinated, with 721,296 children inaccessible for immunization. Furthermore, there were 53,621 documented instances of vaccine rejection throughout the program.
