The PM and President condemn the attack on the Bajaur polio team.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari vehemently denounced the assault on a polio vaccination team in the Tangi neighborhood of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bajaur region.

According to a press release from the President Secretariat Media Wing, the president expressed his profound sadness and grief over the death of a citizen and a constable assigned to guard the polio team.

He remarked that the country honored Constable Sajjad Ahmed’s sacrifice and that such shuhada sacrifices will not go in vain.

The president went on to say that attacks on the national effort to eliminate a fatal disease like polio were crimes against humanity and that the country’s will to completely eradicate the disease would never waver.
