Security agencies apprehend ISIS-K spokesperson, delivering a significant setback to the terrorist organization.

Security authorities have significantly undermined the Islamic State Khorasan (ISIS-K) by apprehending the group’s spokesperson, terrorist Khawarij Sultan Aziz Azzam, sources confirmed.

Officials report that Sultan Aziz Azzam, the spokesperson for ISIS-K and founder of the group’s official media division, the Al-Azaim Foundation, was apprehended following an intelligence-driven operation.

The Al-Azaim Foundation is regarded as a crucial platform for ISIS-K’s recruitment and propaganda efforts.

Subsequent to the apprehension of Sultan Aziz Azzam, the media operations of the group have allegedly been halted.

Pakistani officials have executed multiple prominent arrests of ISIS-K operatives in recent months.

The apprehension of ISIS-K spokesperson Sultan Aziz Azzam on May 16, 2025, has been emphasized in the 16th report of the United Nations Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Team.

In 2025, about 500 individuals, including security personnel, were martyred in terrorist assaults in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The UN assessment indicates that Pakistan’s measures have substantially undermined ISIS-K’s global organizational framework.

Numerous anticipated terrorist assaults were prevented, the count of combatants diminished, and significant commanders and ideological leaders were incapacitated due to these actions.

The study additionally indicates that arrests conducted in May 2025, including those of Sultan Aziz Azzam and senior leader Abu Yasser al-Turki, resulted in a significant decrease in the group’s operational capacity.

Consequently, significant ISIS-K media outlets, such as “Voice of Khorasan,” have been dismantled, inflicting a substantial blow to the extremist group’s outreach and recruitment initiatives.
