Rojhan: Two medics treat bandits, police recover three captives

ROJHAN: Five wanted bandits were murdered and numerous others were injured in a joint operation by Sindh and Punjab police in the Katcha area, according to officials on Sunday.

Police reported that the “intense exchange of fire between the police and dacoits in Katcha area” was still going on.

Twenty accused bandit facilitators have allegedly been arrested by police during the operation.

According to sources, police officers have also found a rocket launcher, an anti-aircraft gun, and other heavy weapons in the criminals’ hideouts in the Katcha area.

“The operation last night resulted in the recovery of three hostages.”

Two medical professionals who treat wounded criminals have also been found in bandit hideouts, according to authorities.

“Police are trying to find out if the doctors were abducted or if they went to the outlaws voluntarily,” police authorities stated.

Gangs of bandits have been active in the Katcha area, committing a variety of crimes such as murder, robberies, kidnapping for ransom, and attacks on law enforcement.

According to reports on social media, the outlaws from the Katcha area are currently trying to flee to Rahim Yar Khan, Rojhan city, and other parts of the Rajhanpur district via boat.

Earlier on Tuesday, Sindh Police reported that a dead corpse had been discovered from sugarcane plantation and that the passengers who had been abducted by bandits from a bus had been retrieved.

According to preliminary accounts, a group of bandits assaulted a passenger bus along the Guddu-Kashmore link road and took 18 people hostage.

Ten passengers were found in the Sonmiani katcha area after the police conducted a search operation, according to DSP Obauro Abdul Qadir Soomro. “A passenger’s body was discovered on sugarcane farmland.”

“A total of 13 bus passengers have been saved by police, and a search operation is still ongoing in Sonmiani and the surrounding area as police officers have cordoned off the area,” the official stated.
