The 2025 Performance Audit Report is released by the Islamabad Traffic Police.

In its 2025 Performance Audit Report, the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) noted notable advancements in road safety and traffic control throughout the nation’s capital.
According to the research, there was a noteworthy 22% decrease in traffic accidents over the year, while there was a 45% decrease in traffic rule breaches. Hamza Humayun, the Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) of Islamabad, attributed the improvement to intensive awareness programs, efficient police, and regular monitoring.
According to the study, traffic police issued 65,784 penalties for riding motorcycles without a helmet and 7,931 challans for using a cell phone while driving in 2025. To guarantee adherence to traffic laws, officials revoked 90 route permits and suspended 120 driver’s licenses in situations of severe infractions.
Vehicles with unlawful number plates and black tinted windows were also targeted. A 12 percent decrease in these infractions resulted from the penalization of 21,168 automobiles. Additionally, over 2,100 residents received assistance for various traffic-related difficulties, and over 88,000 road users were examined at five major traffic police checkpoints throughout Islamabad.
CTO Hamza Humayun added that the licensing campaign was a huge success. Consequently, the proportion of drivers with licenses rose from 37% to 81%. Over 560,000 persons received driver’s licenses during the year.
In order to significantly lower accidents and infractions in the upcoming years, the Islamabad Traffic Police reaffirmed its dedication to enhancing road safety, upholding traffic regulations, and offering commuters effective services.
