On December 26, a public holiday was declared in Islamabad.

The arrival of high-level foreign dignitaries in the federal capital has prompted the local government to declare December 26 a public holiday.

The administration has sent out a notification to that effect.

The notification states that all other public and private institutions will stay closed on this holiday, but the ICT administration, the CDA, the police, and government hospitals will not be affected.
