According to the Pakistan Bar Council, the measure broke multiple laws, including the Evidence measure, and was unlawful and unconstitutional.
The Lahore High Court’s Chief Justice was commended by the members for issuing prompt decisions about the act.
The participants claimed that following the court judgement, the Punjab government disseminated and mocked the Chief Justice of Lahore. During the conference, the Pakistan Bar voiced grave concerns regarding the Punjab government’s stance.
The statement stated that the Protection of Property Act should be promptly repealed, the Punjab government should not act on the illegal wishes of the legal land mafia, and the judiciary has the power to interpret the law.
However, the statement went on to say that the Pakistan Bar Council supports the attorneys of the Lahore High Court and will not permit anyone to undermine the judiciary’s honour.
