Twenty high-risk response armored vehicles will be delivered to Punjab Police.

A significant move to improve public safety and law enforcement in the face of escalating security threats has been approved by the Punjab administration.
At a total cost of Rs1.2036 billion, the provincial cabinet has approved the acquisition of 20 armored security vehicles for the Punjab Police.
The price of each armored vehicle has been set at Rs60.18 million, according to Interior Secretary Ahmed Javed Qazi. The purpose of the vehicles is to improve police capabilities in times of riot, protest, and terrorist attack, when upholding law and order presents significant difficulties.
According to Qazi, the police’s capacity to react quickly and efficiently has been hampered by the lack of armored vehicles. He emphasized that in high-threat scenarios, this shortcoming puts people and police officers at risk.
The acquisition is intended to increase the police’s operating capability and guarantee quick deployment in an emergency, according to the Punjab government. The cabinet has ordered that police units around the province receive these armored vehicles right away. Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the former prime minister, emphasized that in order to guarantee quick response, the vehicles should be placed in urban areas.
The government acknowledged that the need to safeguard civilians and law enforcement personnel during high-risk situations was the primary motivator for the purchase of these specialized vehicles. It is anticipated that the cars would be essential to preserving public order and bolstering security in the province.
