The KP government directs a review of police spending in order to bolster the Special Branch and CTD.

In an important step to fortify the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and the Special Branch, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has chosen to conduct a thorough examination of the money disbursed to the police and their use.

Sources claim that the provincial government will evaluate the effectiveness of the police using the money that has been released thus far and the degree of improvement in service delivery.

An eight-person cabinet committee has been established for this purpose, including the inspector general of police, the minister of local government, the minister of education, the finance adviser, and other pertinent officials. Additionally, the committee’s terms of reference (ToRs) have been spelled out in detail.

According to sources, the committee will look at how much money has been given to the police thus far and what advancements have been made in the system, performance, and provision of public services.

The committee will also draft suggestions for future improvements and fortifications to the police, CTD, and Special Branch. In order to create a final report that will direct future decisions, it will collaborate with high officials and pertinent departments.
