SECP claims unprecedented increase in new company registrations over the first half of the fiscal year.

On Monday, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) published data indicating a significant increase in new business registrations, reflecting heightened corporate activity.

SECP statistics indicate that 21,668 new firms were registered in the first half of the current fiscal year, representing a 29% rise relative to the corresponding period last year. This expansion indicates increasing investor confidence in the nation’s commercial landscape.

The recently registered firms contributed a paid-up capital of PKR 30.7 billion, increasing the total number of registered companies in Pakistan to 279,724.

The IT and e-commerce sectors spearheaded growth, resulting in the registration of 4,277 new enterprises. Other sectors, such as trading, services, and real estate, experienced considerable growth.

Data indicates that 524 of the newly established companies secured foreign investment totaling PKR 126 crore. China constituted 71% of this foreign investment, leading the ranks of international investors.

The SECP emphasized that the increase in company registrations indicates the enhancement of the nation’s corporate environment and investor confidence.
