There is still a lot of fog, and some parts of the roads are still closed.

Due to heavy fog, which has drastically decreased visibility in numerous places, a number of key highways and motorways in Punjab remained blocked to traffic on Wednesday.

As a precaution to save lives and property, traffic movement has been halted at several motorway stretches, according to a representative for the Motorway Police Central Region. Due to extreme fog, the M-2 motorway between Lahore and Kot Momin has been closed.

In a similar vein, traffic has been prohibited on the M-3 motorway from Faizpur to Darkhana, the M-4 motorway from Pindi Bhattian to Multan, and the M-5 motorway from Multan to Zahir Pir. Additionally, due to poor visibility, the Lahore Eastern Bypass and the M-11 motorway from Lahore to Sambrial have been closed.

In Lahore, Manga Mandi, Pattoki, Okara, Sahiwal, Kassowal, and Iqbal Nagar, the Motorway Police reported thick fog on the National Highway. There were also reports of extremely poor visibility in Mian Channu, Khanewal, Multan, Lodhran, and Bahawalpur; in certain places, visibility was as low as 100 meters, which posed a major risk to public safety.

The representative cautioned that speeding and lane infractions in fog can result in deadly collisions. It has been recommended that commuters avoid needless travel, adhere to rigorous lane discipline, and choose daylight travel.
