Foreign Ministers of Islamic nations endorse the establishment of a committee to govern Gaza.

The Foreign Ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Turkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar endorsed the announcement regarding the establishment of the National Committee for the Administration of the Gaza Strip (NCAG) on 14 January 2026. This temporary transitional body was created in accordance with Security Council Resolution 2803, as part of the second phase of the Comprehensive Peace Plan and in collaboration with the Palestinian Authority.

The ministers underscored the necessity for the National Committee to initiate its responsibilities in overseeing the daily affairs of the Gaza populace, while maintaining the institutional and territorial connection between the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, ensuring Gaza’s unity, and opposing any efforts to fragment it.

The Ministers conveyed their unequivocal support for the announcement regarding the initiation of the second phase of U.S. President Trump’s plan, commending his leadership and dedication to concluding the conflict in the Gaza Strip, facilitating the withdrawal of the Israeli military, averting the annexation of the occupied West Bank, and promoting peace in the region.

The ministers emphasised the necessity of solidifying the ceasefire, preventing any infractions, and guaranteeing the unobstructed delivery of humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip.

They additionally urged the initiation of early recovery and reconstruction initiatives across Gaza, and for facilitating the return of the Palestinian Authority to fulfil its responsibilities there, in anticipation of a just, comprehensive, and sustainable peace in alignment with UN resolutions, the Arab Peace Initiative, and the two-State solution, aimed at terminating the occupation of all Palestinian territories in Gaza and the West Bank and establishing an independent Palestinian State along the 4 June 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
