Petroleum prices in Pakistan remain unchanged

The Petroleum Division’s official announcement states that the petrol prices established 15 days ago will stay effective, and diesel rates will similarly be constant for the upcoming fortnight.

Petrol prices will persist at Rs253.17 per litre, while high-speed diesel (HSD) will maintain a price of Rs257.08 per litre, given the unchanged rates.

Officials stated that the decision was made following an assessment of petrol prices, local fuel patterns, and prevailing market conditions in Pakistan over the preceding fortnight.

The Petroleum Division indicated that fluctuations in petrol prices, supply dynamics, and demand situations were meticulously evaluated prior to the decision to uphold current fuel rates.

Authorities announced that the prevailing petrol and diesel prices will be implemented on January 16 and will remain in effect for the subsequent 15 days, noting that any future adjustments will occur following the next planned evaluation.

Officials emphasised that petrol prices in Pakistan are assessed biweekly to reconcile consumer relief with fiscal obligations.

Previous Predictions of Decline in Petrol Prices
Previously, a reduction in petrol prices and other fuel rates in Pakistan was anticipated starting January 16.

The survey indicated that petrol prices were anticipated to decrease by as much as Rs4.59 per litre, while high-speed diesel was projected to decline by much to Rs2.70 per litre.

Sources suggested that kerosene oil may experience a decrease of Rs1.82 per litre, while light diesel oil was anticipated to be reduced by much to Rs2.08 per litre.

Authorities said that the preliminary efforts for a reduction in petroleum product prices had been finalised.
