The Pentagon prepares 1,500 soldiers for potential deployment to Minnesota, according to the Washington Post.

According to the Washington Post on Sunday, which cited defence officials, the US Pentagon has ordered roughly 1,500 active-duty soldiers to get ready for a potential deployment to Minnesota.

According to the Washington Post article, the Army ordered the forces to get ready to deploy in case the state’s violence increased.

US President Donald Trump made the action after threatening to invoke the Insurrection Act if state officials failed to prevent protesters from attacking immigration officials.

“If the corrupt politicians of Minnesota don’t obey the law and stop the professional agitators and insurrectionists from attacking the Patriots of I.C.E., who are only trying to do their job, I will institute the INSURRECTION ACT,” Trump posted on Truth Social on Thursday.

A request for comment was not immediately answered by the White House or the Pentagon.
