Khawaja Asif says LB elections will help strengthen the system.

Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Minister for Defense, said on Wednesday that local body elections would assist enhance the country’s democratic structure.

Transferring powers to local lawmakers will improve the system, he claimed in an interview with a private television broadcaster.

In response to a query, he stated that there is a need for timely local government elections.

Commenting on ties with neighboring nations, he stated that Afghan soil should not be used to foment terrorism against Pakistan, and that India should solve the main issue of illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir through international resolution.

In response to a query, he stated that Pakistan’s participation in the Gaza Board of Peace will assist resolve the Palestinian people’s difficulties.
