Punjab uses electric patrol cars to establish Pakistan’s first green policing squad.

Punjab is credited with implementing the nation’s first police patrolling system based on electric vehicles. Pakistan’s first Green Policing Unit was solemnly launched by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
The chief minister personally drove and examined the Green Policing Unit’s electric patrol car. The first city to deploy contemporary BYD electric vehicles for police and traffic patrols will be Lahore.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif received a thorough briefing on the Green Policing Unit and electric vehicles at the event.
It was revealed at the briefing that the eco-friendly electric car can be fast-charged from 30 to 80 percent in around 30 minutes and has a range of 410 kilometers on a single charge. The car has police lights, a 360-degree camera, speed detecting devices, and a contemporary surveillance PA system.
It was added that the present fleet of 103 patrol cars uses 28,000 liters of fuel a month, costing 7.42 million rupees. Each electric car will guarantee zero carbon emissions, lower operating expenses, and save about 4,500 liters of fuel a year.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif gave the order to progressively extend the Green Policing Unit to additional districts and to gradually increase the number of electric cars for the unit.
“Green policing reflects the vision of clean air and good governance,” she added, adding that using electric vehicles will result in zero carbon emissions and lower fuel costs.
