The US mission initiates the Liberty Bell campaign in Islamabad to commemorate Independence Day.

S Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker has launched the Liberty Bell campaign to commemorate the United States’ Independence Day festivities in Pakistan.
The US Mission formally inaugurated the Freedom 250 Liberty Bell Initiative at a ceremony named “Let Freedom Ring” at Lincoln Corner Islamabad. The effort signifies the commencement of events commemorating the 250th anniversary of US independence and honors America’s national trajectory and the persistent global influence of US diplomacy.
During the event, Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker revealed a symbolic copy of the historic Liberty Bell, identical in scale to the original, therefore inaugurating a series of events to commemorate the milestone anniversary.
The Liberty Bell, situated in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is a prominent emblem of American liberty and democracy. Cast in 1752, the bell possesses historical significance owing to its involvement in the American Revolution. It was tolled throughout significant events in US history, such as the signing of the US Constitution in 1787, and currently represents the fundamental American principles of liberty, justice, and equality.
During the ceremony, Natalie Baker emphasized the significance of the Liberty Bell as a symbol of national heritage and its association with pivotal historical events, such as the end of slavery. She characterized the Liberty Bell as a potent symbol of American liberty.
The Chargé d’Affaires recognized the role of US diplomats having personal connections to Philadelphia in enhancing Pakistan–US relations. Fifteen symbolic replicas of the Liberty Bell will be disseminated globally at Lincoln Corners as part of the Let Freedom Ring initiative, where local artists and volunteer students will be invited to paint the bells under the theme, “What freedom means to me.”
