Syed Imran Ahmad Shah, the Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety, stated on Wednesday that the government is dedicated to enhancing social protection systems via transparency, digital reforms, and improved coordination among welfare institutions to provide timely assistance to the nation’s most vulnerable populations.
He articulated these perspectives while presiding over a high-level conference to evaluate the one-year performance of the Ministry’s subsidiary organizations.
High-ranking officials from Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM), Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Trust for Voluntary Organizations (TVO), and Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) informed the Minister about current initiatives concerning poverty alleviation, climate resilience, social protection, and other critical domains.
The Minister commended the transparency, accountability, and efficient implementation procedures employed by the institutions.
He also praised BISP Secretary Amir Ahmad Ali for the program’s digital initiatives, describing the launch of BISP Digital Wallets as a substantial advancement in service delivery.
Syed Imran Ahmad Shah instructed Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal to guarantee that no oversight transpires in delivering services to impoverished and deserving patients.
He additionally mandated the enhancement of inter-institutional cooperation and overall project efficacy to guarantee prompt and effective support.
The meeting underlined the Ministry’s dedication to expediting initiatives for poverty alleviation, sustainable development, and the safeguarding of marginalized populations.
