Rooftop owners ordered to file bail bonds for Basant celebrations in Lahore

The Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore has instructed owners of rooftops earmarked for Basant celebrations to submit surety bonds to ensure strict compliance with safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
The instruction was made during a meeting convened by CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddique Kaimkhani, which reviewed security and safety plans for the smooth conduct of Basant in the city.
The CCPO underlined complete execution of the Punjab Regulation of Kite Flying Act 2025 and declared that crowding on roofs would not be permitted. Additionally, he ordered that no motorbike be permitted on roads without safety rods as of right now.
To maintain efficient supervision during Basant, the CCPO ordered the deployment of special police teams across the city.
He also issued a warning that aerial firing and weapon displays would not be tolerated, emphasizing that violators would face harsh and indiscriminate punishment.
The chief of police in Lahore reaffirmed that every effort was being made to make Basant celebrations in the province capital safe, orderly, and peaceful.
