On the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, Pakistani women’s talent, tenacity, and fortitude were honoured by President Asif Ali Zardari, who also recognised their critical role in the country’s progress.

President Zardari commended women in his speech for their exceptional achievements in science and technology, highlighting their pivotal role in propelling Pakistan’s advancement.

He reiterated the nation’s commitment under CEDAW to guarantee women equal chances in leadership positions in science and education.

The President noted that more than half of university students are now female, which he described as a positive indication of women’s increasing involvement in research and higher education.

He pointed out that women in Pakistan are spearheading research projects in biotechnology, engineering, medicine, and computing.
