The resignation of Akhtar Mengal is accepted by the NA speaker.

Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has formally accepted Balochistan National Party (Mengal) leader Sardar Akhtar Mengal’s resignation.
After serving as NA-256 Khuzdar’s representative, Mengal resigned from the National Assembly on September 3, 2024.
Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, however, has postponed the acceptance for more than a year and a half.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has been notified by the speaker that Mengal’s resignation is accepted.
The “current situation in Balochistan has compelled me to take this step,” Mengal wrote in his letter to the speaker.
He claimed that the House had long ignored and marginalised the province, and that its citizens were becoming more and more disadvantaged every day, which made him reevaluate his position.
He claimed that because Balochistani citizens are not adequately represented in the House, voices like his cannot effect significant change. “They are attacked, silenced, labelled traitors, or even killed whenever they try to voice their opinions or protest,” Mengal continued.
“My presence here no longer serves any purpose for the people I represent, so I find it impossible to continue in this capacity under such circumstances,” he wrote.
The leader of the BNP-M also conveyed optimism that Balochistan would eventually be safe and prosperous.
