Ambreen Jan is the new chairperson of PEMRA.

On Wednesday, President Asif Ali Zardari gave his approval for Ambreen Jan to be the head of the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA).

Sources in the Prime Minister’s Office say that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif sent a report to the President for approval of the nomination of Ambreen Jan, who used to be the Information Secretary, as chairman of PEMRA.

The legislative committee has already suggested that Ambreen Jan be made chairperson of PEMRA. After this, the Prime Minister sent the suggestion to the President, who then approved the appointment.
