Three Islamabad sit-ins are still going on after government-opposition talks broke down.

The opposition is continuing sit-ins at three places in Islamabad, asking that Imran Khan be given immediate access to his personal and expert doctors, after talks between the government and the opposition failed on Friday.

Federal Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry reportedly failed to convince Opposition Leader Mehmood Khan Achakzai to put an end to the sit-ins. In the meantime, Parliament’s entrances and exits are still blocked. The Parliament Lodges’ gates have likewise been fully sealed.

There have been reports of altercations at the Parliament Lodges between PTI lawmakers and police. Police are now in charge of security duties, according to the Sergeant-at-Arms.

In the meantime, all access points have been barred in Islamabad’s Red Zone, which has increased security. In addition to prisoner vans, a sizable police presence has been established.

After being physically prevented from entering the Parliament House with other members of the provincial parliament, Sohail Afridi, the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, staged a sit-in at the gate of the house.
