Following Akhtar Mengal’s resignation, the Election Commission releases the schedule for the NA-256 Khuzdar by-election.

The schedule for the by-election for the National Assembly seat that Balochistan National Party (BNP-Mengal) leader Sardar Akhtar Mengal left vacant has been released by the Pakistani Election Commission.

Voting for NA-256 Khuzdar is scheduled for April 5th, per the Election Commission’s schedule.

Between February 20 and 24, nomination papers for the by-election can be turned in.

The Speaker of the National Assembly only two days ago confirmed Sardar Akhtar Mengal’s retirement from the National Assembly, which was announced in September 2024.
