Shehbaz and Modi are likely to be invited to the swearing ceremony for the next Prime Minister of Bangladesh.

Bangladeshi news says that the new government’s swearing-in event will include leaders from South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) member states, such as Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The Dhaka Tribune said that the caretaker administration will plan the oath-taking ceremony for the expected Prime Minister, Tarique Rahman, on February 17.

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has officially started the process of building a new government after winning a comfortable majority in the 13th national parliamentary elections.

The party that wins more than two-thirds of the seats will form the government.

Plans are being made to invite leaders from SAARC member states and Middle Eastern countries to the occasion.

Humayun Kabir, the BNP’s Joint Secretary General, told the Dhaka Tribune that he wasn’t talking about any one country in particular. However, the party is getting ready to invite leaders from SAARC member states and Middle Eastern countries to the swearing-in ceremony.

Party sources say that BNP wants to show what its diplomatic goals are and improve regional cooperation by making sure that international leaders attend the event.

The new government’s foreign policy should focus on building good relations with South Asia and the Middle East.

After the BNP won, the expected Prime Minister Tarique Rahman said in his first media interview that his key goals would be restoring the economy, establishing law and order, and good governance. This would be his party’s return to power after 20 years.
