Punjab Chief Minister Maryam welcomes Ramadan and calls for prayers and almsgiving for those in need.

As Ramadan approaches, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has greeted the Muslim community and prayed for blessings, stability, and peace throughout the Islamic world.
She asked people to offer extra prayers during Sehri, Iftar, and Tarawih for the safety and prosperity of the nation in a statement from the provincial capital.
She emphasized that Ramadan offers a unique chance to gain Allah’s favor, kindness, and blessings, and that the Quran emphasizes that even the smallest good deed is rewarded.
Maryam Nawaz emphasized that Ramadan cultivates the virtues of compassion, thankfulness, and generosity and urged that tables be kept available for the poor during Sehri and Iftar. She continued, “We are thankful to Allah for giving us the chance to enjoy the blessings of this holy month.”
She emphasized that Ramadan is not just a time for worship but also for aiding the underprivileged, saying it should be a message of peace, development, and prosperity for Pakistan. Wealthy citizens are urged to help those in need.
Forty lakh families are receiving Rs 10,000 apiece as part of the Ramadan Guardian Card project. With the state providing relief directly to those in need, efforts have been made to remove lines at ration stations.
The chief minister further mentioned that more than 300 tables have been set up for Iftar and Sehri in 147 districts, and that convenience stores all throughout Punjab have been converted into Ramadan bazaars.
