Eleven security personnel dead, 12 insurgents eliminated in Bajaur checkpoint assault.

Rawalpindi: Twelve terrorists belonging to Indian proxy Fitna Al-Khwarij were killed, and 11 security personnel were martyred in an attack on a joint security check station in Bajaur District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Tuesday.

The ISPR said that on 16 February 2026, a despicable terrorist assault was attempted on a combined check station of security personnel and Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) in Bajaur by Khwarij.

The perpetrators attempted to compromise the check post’s security; however, their malicious intentions were promptly and effectively thwarted by the alert and determined response of Pakistan’s security personnel, as highlighted by ISPR.

The resolute troops demonstrated exceptional bravery and professionalism, engaging the retreating khwarij with accuracy and neutralizing twelve of them.

The ISPR reported that the assailants, in their desperation, crashed an explosive-laden truck against the outer wall. The explosion’s impact led to the collapse of the infrastructure at the checkpoint, resulting in the ultimate sacrifice of eleven valiant individuals who embraced martyrdom.

Regrettably, civilian residential structures nearby sustained significant damage due to the explosion, resulting in the death of one innocent little girl and injury to seven others, including women and children.

The ISPR announced that sanitization measures are underway to eradicate any more Indian-sponsored kharji present in the region.

The statement additionally indicated that the unwavering counterterrorism initiative under the vision “Azm e Istehkam,” sanctioned by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, will persist vigorously to eradicate the threat of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from Pakistan.

The sacrifices of our courageous soldiers and innocent citizens further solidify our steadfast dedication to protecting our homeland at all costs, the ISPR stated.
