Taraweeh prayers conducted nationwide in a spirit of reverence

On Wednesday, hundreds of thousands of worshipers attended Isha and Taraweeh prayers at mosques across on the inaugural night of Ramadan.
The scene embodied the spirituality of the holy month and its significance in the hearts of Muslims. A comprehensive array of services and organizational strategies implemented by mosque administrators facilitated a secure and seamless worship environment for the congregation.
Fasting during Ramadan, the ninth and most sacred month of the Islamic calendar, constitutes one of the five pillars of Islam, marking a period when religious zeal is revitalized across the Muslim world.
A notable aspect of Ramadan annually is the Taraweeh prayer, a non-mandatory nocturnal prayer observed during the sacred month. Numerous individuals nationwide participated in the Taraweeh prayers in illuminated mosques on Wednesday night.
“Today marks the inaugural day of Taraweeh,” Ali, a Lahore resident, informed Dunya News on Wednesday evening. “We must maintain this prayer with fervor throughout the entire month and also encourage others to participate daily.”
The Ramazan moon for 1447 Hijri has been observed in multiple cities in Pakistan. Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, declared the moon sighting, affirming that the first fast will commence today, and the first Taraweeh prayers will be conducted tonight.
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee convened in Peshawar to observe the Ramazan moon, presided over by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad.
The principal meeting occurred at the Auqaf Hall on Charsadda Road, whereas zonal committee sessions transpired in Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, and Quetta.
After the conference, Azad informed the media that weather conditions differed nationwide, featuring clear sky in certain regions and overcast circumstances in others.
He reported that moon-sighting testimonies were obtained from several sites, including Quetta, Islamabad, Waziristan, Dir, Karachi, Buner, Mardan, and Tando Allahyar.
