Khawaja Asif cautions that the potential of war with India persists, attributing the assaults to Kabul and Delhi.

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif stated that the prospect of war with India remains, attributing terrorism in Pakistan to a proxy fight involving the Taliban and India.

In an interview with a French TV, Asif asserted that Pakistan would not hesitate to conduct air operations within Afghanistan if deemed necessary. In response to an inquiry regarding potential future measures in Kabul and Kandahar, he stated that the option has consistently been available and may be reactivated should Kabul fail to ensure peace.

He asserted that assaults on Pakistan stem from a proxy conflict endorsed by Delhi and Kabul, noting that proscribed organizations like the TTP and ISIS are functioning from Afghan territory. He claimed that such attacks cannot occur without the approval or support of the leadership in Kabul.

Asif stated that if Kabul guaranteed peace, antagonism would cease; instead, he accused Afghan officials of engaging in plots and supporting militant organizations.

He disclosed that multiple amicable nations endeavored to mediate between Pakistan and Afghanistan, encompassing discussions in Istanbul, Doha, and Kabul; however, these initiatives yielded no outcomes.

The Defence Minister cautioned that the risk of violence persists concerning India. He asserted that India experienced international humiliation following a brief four-day conflict last May, highlighting that Pakistan’s air force effectively thwarted incursions into its airspace.

Asif stated that Pakistan is profoundly dedicated to the Palestinian cause, characterizing Gaza as significant to the Pakistani populace and reiterating support for Palestine in all international venues.
